Philip Sneyd - Podiatrist
Philip Sneyd is originally from Manchester in the United Kingdom, Phil joined our team upon moving to Nova Scotia in 2013. He obtained his degree in Podiatric Medicine at the University of Huddersfield in Yorkshire, England and is a member of the Nova Scotia Podiatry Association. Prior to studying Podiatry, he spent many years assisting individuals with specialty footwear designed to address their foot issues.
Phil enjoys the broad scope of podiatry work including: biomechanical assessments, skin and nail care, vascular and neurological assessment, nail surgery and plantar wart treatments. Patients often comment about this kind and gentle manner.
In his free time, Phil enjoys spending time outside exploring nature.

Emily Conroy - Certified Pedorthist & Bracing Specialist
Emily was born and raised in Newfoundland. She moved to Nova Scotia to attend Acadia University, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree and went on to complete her Pedorthic & Bracing Certification. She is a member of the Canadian Chapter of the Pedorthic Footcare Association. Emily joined our team in February 2012 and both her professional skills and her friendly personality are noticed by both her patients and co-workers.
In order to determine the best course of treatment for her patients, Emily’s assessment may include, but is not limited to: skin integrity / protective sensation / peripheral nerve integrity / biomechanical gait analysis including temporal and spatial assessment / range of motion / muscle strength / posture, balance and safety / proprioception.
Emily specializes in orthotics, orthopedic footwear, shoe modifications and bracing. Treating ages 5-105 years!
Although her love for Newfoundland will always remain strong, she has chosen to make Nova Scotia her permanent home. In Emily’s free time, she enjoys many outdoor activities with friends and family.

David Allcock - Podiatrist & Bracing Specialist
David is from Liverpool, England. He obtained his degree in Podiatric Medicine at the University of Salford in Manchester. Prior to making the decision to study Podiatric Medicine and throughout his studies, David worked as a frontline Emergency Response Ambulance Technician, served as a Combat Engineer and physical training instructor.
David enjoys a broad spectrum of podiatry work involving: skin and nail care & ingrown nail surgery, biomechanics as well as specializing in wart treatments. David also has a keen interest in muscle, ligament, tendon and soft tissue injury rehabilitation. He enjoys working with all ages – children, adults, seniors, and with individuals who are dealing with challenging cognitive issues such as dementia.
In his spare time David likes to compete in various sporting disciplines but is at home in the water. He can often be found surfing, swimming or playing underwater hockey.
David is a member of the Nova Scotia Podiatry Association and is accepting new patients.
Colleen O'Reilly - Clinic Operations Manager
Colleen was born and raised in St. John’s, NL, and has a Bachelor of Commerce from Memorial University. After graduating, Colleen moved to Halifax where she started her career in Retail Management. For the past 20 years, Colleen has worked mostly in Human Resources and Operations Management, and is thrilled to be bringing her experience and leadership to Comfort Orthotics and Podiatry Clinic.
In her spare time, Colleen enjoys reading, travelling, volunteering in the community, being a hockey mom and spending time with family and friends.
Cathie Scott - Office Admin, Compression & Shoe Fitter
Cathie joins our team with over 15 years experience in customer service and retail management. This experience makes her a perfect fit for our team. Her pleasant demeanor and willingness to help is evident when patients come into the clinic. Cathie has a great interest in health and fitness. In her time off she can be found in the gym or running in races around the province.
Leah Rutledge - Office Admin & Shoe Fitter
Leah has well over 12 years experience working in health and wellness and will ensure you have a pleasant experience at our clinic. She will assist you with scheduling appointments, insurance claims, etc. Leah always enjoys outdoor activities and is co leader of a local nature club for kids and their families. She loves to cook, canoe, hike and look for wildflowers especially since her three children love to lead the way.
Carissa - Office Admin & Shoe Fitter
Carissa grew up in Wolfville, Nova Scotia. She has over 10 years experience in customer service and retail management. With her friendly personality, she greets everyone with a smile. She looks forward to bringing her experience and knowledge to Comfort Orthotics & Podiatry. In her spare time, she enjoys travelling, trips to the beach, and spending time with her family.
Kelly Annand - Office Admin / Inventory Manager
Born and raised in Nova Scotia, Kelly brings to us 16 years of admin and customer service experience. She loves exploring the outdoors with her dogs, campfires, music and spending time with her family.
Andrew Turriff - Lab tech / Footwear Modifications
Andrew was born and raised in Vancouver. He did his undergraduate degree at Nova Scotia College of Art and Design before studying footwear design and shoe making in the UK at the London College of Fashion. Andrew has designed footwear and made shoes by hand for various companies across North America. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, making shoes, playing hockey and exercising.
Tom Levy - Lab tech
Tom Levy has been a part of the team since May 2012. He brought with him experience in the shoe repair industry. Tom assembles custom made orthotics under the direction and guidance of our certified professionals. He enjoys working with his hands from cutting new materials to trimming the orthotics. Tom can be found working away in the lab singing along to his favourite tunes. In his spare time, he enjoys leather crafting, reading, photography and playing basketball.
Tom Shebib - Certified Pedorthist
Tom grew up in Cape Breton. He is the owner of this clinic and comes from a long line of shoe makers (4+ generations). After taking 4 years of engineering and mechanics he couldn’t resist his entrepreneurial spirit any longer and opened up his own business in 1992 using the trade that was passed down to him. In 1996 he completed his Pedorthic Management of the Foot course at Ball State University and furthered his studies at the Robert Palmer Institute of Biomechanics. Tom is a Certified Pedorthist and is one of the founding members of the Canadian Chapter of the Pedorthic Footcare Association. As co-owner with his wife Lisa they are very proud of their team at Comfort Orthotics. When not running the business Tom enjoys fly fishing and camping with friends and family. He also has a passion for cars and is a high performance driving instructor.
Lisa Shebib - Certified Pedorthist
After leaving Cape Breton, Lisa went to Acadia University, where she obtained her Bachelor of Science and later received her Bachelor of Human Ecology at Mount Saint Vincent University. In 2007 she joined her husband at the family business and continued her studies in the field of Pedorthics. She is now a Certified Pedorthist and has been working with her husband Tom ever since. Lisa is very involved with clinic operations. Lisa can often be found participating in community programs promoting foot health. When it is time to wind down, she enjoys camping, swimming and spending time with family and friends.
