Thickened Nails

What is it?
Nails can often become thicker than normal. Often, only part of a particular nail can grow in a thickened way causing the nail to grow out in an abnormal direction.

Causes:
Ageing, changes to circulation, fungal nail infection and other medical conditions. Trauma/injury to the nail: Undersized footwear can often lead to a regular irritation of the nail

How can we help?
We can advise on appropriate footwear with the correct length width and depth.
Our Podiatrist can assess you and then reduce the nail thickness. Other footcare needs/concerns that you may have can be addressed also. – see our podiatry page
